Kintsugi is a striking and unique mural by Muance that presents a face emerging from stone, rendered in a cube geometric style. The artwork is characterised by its neutral tones, which enhance the sense of solidity and timelessness. The face, subtly visible within the geometric forms, evokes a sense of mystery and introspection, inviting viewers to contemplate its presence.
The mural’s design is a testament to its name, Kintsugi, which refers to the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, thereby embracing flaws and imperfections as part of the object’s history and beauty.
